Field of Honor

The Field of Honor has become an annual Fayetteville tradition during Military Appreciation Month in May. However, due to the COVID19 epidemic, we have postponed our tradition until October. Since 2007, family and friends have paid tribute to honor or remember Service Members and Veterans from every branch of service. Serving as a destination for families, friends and many others, the Field of Honor provides a way for everyone to discover the stories behind each of the flags.

Remember or honor your loved one, family member, or friend with the purchase of a flag that will be flown proudly on the Field on Honor this year from October 3-November 30, 2020.

Pick up your flag between the dates of (Tuesday) 14 July 2020 through (Friday) 31 July 2020; otherwise, flags become the property of the Foundation. The museum is closed on Mondays.

  • Flags can be purchased for ALL VETERANS, regardless of time served, branch of service, or wartime service.
  • To assist in finding your flag there are two information books, one on the field itself in a white wood podium and one at the information desk in the lobby of the museum.
  • Flag poles are for display in the field ONLY and are property of the ASOM Foundation
  • Questions and concerns should be emailed to or call 910.643.2778
  • All proceeds benefit the Cool Spring District and the Airborne & Special Operations Museum Foundation.
  • Only ONE Veteran per flag. You may purchase multiple flags.
  • Flag Size: 3ft X 5ft, $35.00 per flag.

Once the Field of Honor event ends, your flag(s) can be shipped for $9.95. We will begin shipping after July 13 and you will receive an auto-generated email from the ASOM Foundation once your flag has been shipped. Select the SHIP option when ordering!
